The Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), Government of India, is the nodal ministry responsible for policy formulation, planning, and implementation of programs related to the socio-economic development of Scheduled Tribes (STs).
NGOs, Trusts, and Societies working for tribal welfare can apply for registration to receive project-based support, grants, and empanelment
Registration with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs helps organizations to:
• Apply for Central Government Grants-in-Aid under various schemes.
• Participate in Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) initiatives.
• Get empanelment under NGO‐Darpan (NITI Aayog) and MoTA database.
• Work on assigned tribal development projects in states and tribal districts.
• Obtain recognition for tribal welfare activities in education, livelihood, skill development, health, culture, and conservation.
Eligible organizations include:
• Registered Societies
• Registered Trusts
• Registered Section 8 Companies
Organizations must have:
o Valid NGO-Darpan Registration
o 12A & 80G (preferable)
o Minimum 3 years of experience in welfare activities
o Financial statements for 2–3 years
o A clean record with no legal or financial violations

• Health & nutrition projects

For organizations wishing to support:
